We love the Phonemic Awareness program from Essential Skills. It is a wonderful program. It has been a great supplement to our reading program. We use it from Kindergarten through our third grade. It is easy for the children to follow and use independently at their own level. The skills in this program correlate very well with the DIBELS testing and with our state standards.

We use Sight Words and Reading Comprehension daily. It is very beneficial to our struggling students and regular students. It is also great for completing IEP objectives. The students enjoy the software very much. We feel that the skills are just what the students need to build their literacy. Also, the programs correlate well with the local and state standards. This software is extremely cost effective.

We are one of the pilot schools for our state's RTI implementation. We received recognition at the state level for the use of Essential Skills Software as a highly successful intervention strategy with our English Language Learners. I like the programs because they are not gamey and they have a clear skill focus that guarantees the children learn the skills presented. The programs are a valuable and essential component of our school RTI.

The programs from Essential Skills are consistent and have excellent progression through the skills. The children are very engaged in the programs because they are motivated by their success. They stick with it even when it gets challenging. The skills taught are appropriate and all students are able to work independently. The students like to see their daily scores and I like how the Marks Manager keeps track of how the children are doing.

Our primary and ELL students benefit greatly from using Essential Skills. They enjoy working independently and they like being able to see their progress as they complete activities. Their interest and enthusiasm for the program does not diminish over time.
