I used them mainly for remediation, I really like Readiness Skills and Phonemic Awareness for first and second grade students with early reading difficulties. These programs definitely help the students learn the skills required for early reading. They are in alignment with our reading curriculum and teach the children the basics. That is what I am really looking for. As a bonus the children really look forward to being on these programs.

Our students in first grade to fifth grade use the Essential Skills Programs on a regular basis to support the various classroom curriculums. When preparing our students for state testing - ELouisiana, we have the children working on Reading Comprehension level 2. We find that the classes using this program to prepare for the ELouisiana test typically do much better than if they hadn't used it. I teach children with Autism and my husband and I also run a therapeutic home for kids with Autism. We also have adopted two children with Autism. I can say that the Essential Skills programs have transformed my children! My son is diagnosed with Autism and Apraxia. He is so immersed in the Sight Words program that that he is verbally imitating the sounds he hears, he is spelling, and reading! My daughter who reads on a pre-primer level with no comprehension in August has recently been tested and scored a 2.3 (second grade third month) on reading with full comprehension. What your programs do is simply amazing. I know they are not marketed directly for children with Autism but I am telling you as parent and teacher of kids with Autism the way they are designed is exactly what our kids need. They are repetitive, provide clear and concise verbal directions, and immediate feedback. My thanks to you!

We have Sight Words and Phonemic Awareness which we use in the classroom and in the lab. My kids are so strong in Sight Words by the time they leave grade one!
